March Madness is a phenomenon that grips the
national sports psyche from the first week of March through the
first week of April. If you can get to the Sweet Sixteen (final
16 teams) that is doing pretty well, of course the Final Four or
Championship game is the ultimate.
NCAA Sweet 16 will be played from March 25 – 26 as
part of NCAA March Madness 2010.
Elite Eight
matches will play from March 27 – 28. with the
Final Four playing on April 3 - 5. The 2010 Men's Final Four
basketball tournament will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in
Indianapolis, the new home of the Indianapolis Colts. This will
mark the second time a Final Four will have a minimum seating
capacity of 70,000. Lucas Oil Stadium opened in August 2008
featuring a large retractable roof.

In the Sweet Sixteen there can often be a team or
two that is considered the “Cinderella” or “Dark Horse” such as was
the case with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2005 and
teams such as Gonzaga in prior years, but for the most part, 2010
March Madness betting picks during the Sweet Sixteen will be mostly
be made on power teams.
As you look at
Sweet Sixteen March Madness odds you
want to do the opposite of what you did in the early rounds. You
want to look at the favorites first in the March Madness betting
line and look for reasons to bet them. That is opposite of what you
did earlier when you were looking for reasons to take the dog. The
favorites definitely do better as the tournament progresses and the
Sweet Sixteen March Madness odds will illustrate this fact.
The hardest part of beating the
Sweet 16 odds is that, at this
point, each of the remaining teams is pretty good and nearly every
game left on the slate could go either way, turning the Sweet 16
into a bettors’ nightmare.
To beat the sportsbook Sweet 16 odds, bettors should do their
homework on each remaining team. From looking at recent trends in
team play to coaching, and any other variables such as injuries, a
hot player, or coach that isn’t up to snuff, bettors should try to
gather as much information as possible about the remaining 16 teams
in an effort to win as much as possible for the remainder of the
tournament.
